I received this book free from WaterBrook Multnomah Publishing Group for review. This book is a must read for fans of Amish fiction. The book explores the paths taken once one half of a couple makes a decision that affects them both. Gideon betrays his fiance Mattie in order to "protect" her. Mattie has moved away and opened Mattie's Cake's in order to get on with her life and hurt from the betrayal. The scenes between Mattie and Gideon are so real. You feel for both of these characters and hope for them to reunite. As with all her books Cindy Woodsmall brings Amish country alive.
