R. Albert Mohler, Jr. , author of Culture Shift and president of the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, uses several essays to prove to us the battle that is happening right under our noses in America. Starting out with the question of whether Christians should be involved in politics, he points out that "we can never be counted faithful in the City of God if we neglect our duty in the City of Man". We have an obligation to stand up for what is right. When we have people like Peter Singer saying that "life is not worthy protection until the human being has attained the ability to relate and use language" we have a problem and it is one that Christians need to bind together and stand against and get involved and be that voice of clarity and truth!

How about the fact that the fast growing supposed right of not to be offended? Are we getting a bit tired of hearing about that? What can we do about it? Dr. Mohler gives great insight as to what our responsbilities as Christians are. He discusses everything from the truth of terrorism to the battles of cultural conflict in our public schools and the control they are trying to have over family values. You will be shocked by the illustrations he uses in this section.

Our first step is to be aware of the culture shift that is taking place and to admit that there is an agenda at hand. Because this shift has been taking place over a period of time, it has given us space to become desensitized to the immorality going on around us. We have bought into lies that are tearing the family unit apart.

Dr. Mohler writes with a sophistication, conviction and a passion that is contagious. Even if you are not "really into politics", this book will convince you that it is time to get involved and understand what our future holds if we don't.
