When offered the book Torn to review by Multnomah Books, I immediately chose it. The last year has been full of challenges and trials, and there are times when it feels that my world is crashing down around me. Often, it's so easy to ask "Why is this happening to us?"

Jud Wilhite is a pastor, author and speaker who suggests that instead of asking "why?" we should be asking "who?" Even when we face devastating circumstances, we have a Savior who loves us and holds us in the midst of our pain. His writing style is very conversational and approachable, and his advice is practical and biblical. I found these characteristics to be helpful because when I'm in a difficult situation, the last thing I want is an intellectual treatise, no matter how biblically accurate it is. I want answers, comfort and peace.

Mr. Wilhite has written a book that is essential reading for anyone going through trials and challenges in life. I know that I'll keep it on my bookshelf for future reference.

Disclosure of Material Connection: I received this book free from the publisher through the Multnomah Press publishers book review bloggers program. I was not required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own.
