Love, Sex and Happily Ever After: Preparing for a Marriage that Goes the Distance by Craig Groeschel is a great book about marriage. I really liked that I read this book after reading Real Marriage by Mark Driscoll. It’s great to read about marriage the way it is meant and supposed to be. Between one man and one women who are both in love with and keep God as their first priority.
In this book, Groeschel talks about not to keep looking for your one, but that you need to first search and find THE ONE, Jesus. After you develop and have a true relationship with Him, then you can look for your two. He writes about how a successful marriage begins with Jesus, is works around and through Jesus and that to have a better marriage He should be front of mind. Groeschel makes it a point to make sure that both men and women are discussed in their roles as husbands and wives. One major point, die to yourself, join you heart with your spouse and create a covenant partnership in Christ.
“You will set out on your journey together with passion and confidence, prepared to receive one of the sweetest gifts two lovers ever hoped might – just might – be true: a marriage that goes the distance- in love, intimacy, purpose, friendship, fulfillment and years.”
I recommend this book to anyone planning to get married, anyone who is wondering if they will ever get married and if you are married, OR if you know anyone who is married.
I received this book for free from WaterBrook Multnomah Publishing Group for this review through their Blogging for Books program. I was not required to give a positive review.
