My review:
I am already a huge fan of Karen Kingsbury and this book lived up to all my expectations. It was a haunting tale of loss, grief, anger and finally forgiveness. I don't think anyone would know how they would react if their loved ones were killed in a car accident by a drunk driver. This was a huge test of faith for Hannah and Jenny Ryan. I think having a support system as they do in this book helps but you can always shut everyone out. I thought the legal process was interesting to learn more about and was also appalled for the lack of punishment most drunk drivers get. I really liked hearing about some of the inner workings of MADD too. I never realized they did panels with victims at schools and in communities. I especially was challenged by the character of Carol and how strong she is despite her own personal tragedies. I really felt myself caring for all of the characters in Waiting for Morning and read as quickly as I could to find the outcome. We all go through ups and downs in our life and just by remembering to lean on God we can get through anything. About the Book Waiting For Morning:
“I’m afraid there’s been a car accident...”
As Hannah Ryan waits for her family to return home from a camping trip, she realizes she has everything going for her—a husband other women admire, two charming teenage daughters, and a loving Christian home. As the sunny afternoon turns into twilight, her uneasiness grows along with the shadows. Then a car pulls into Hannah’s driveway, bringing two police officers...and devastating news that shatters her life forever.
In the days that follow, Hannah struggles with unspeakable feelings of sorrow and rage—feelings that fuse into one chilling purpose for living: revenge against Brian Wesley, the drunk driver who has caused all her pain.
In her fury, Hannah shuts the Lord out of her life. She’s determined not to forgive Wesley or the God who allowed this tragedy to happen. Can two caring people help Hannah rediscover her faith...before bitterness destroys her?
