I just read this book. Joshua has been one of my favorite authors for many years. This book reveals his maturity as a Senior Pastor of Covenant Life Church. Joshua describes what doctrine is in an understandable way. No technical issues or abstract concepts.

This book is not for advanced theologians. It is for you, it is for me. This is an invitation to dig into the issues that matter to the Christian Community. I'd love to know what the process is to become in a theologian. Joshua shares with us his own history, his own path through useful and simple stories and, why not?, amusing narrative.

Nonetheless, this is a good place to start but not for staying so long. If you hope for more you need other books, other authors, dig down deep as the title auto explains. This book is a trigger, these are only our foundations.

Another great thing is how Joshua encourages us to read good literature and not to avoid it. Doctrine doesn`t need to be boring, it is a wonderful path to know God.
