This was an intriguing read. Marielle has married into an interesting situation. The house that her new husband and she live in. She has many trials to overcome but she'd never expected a haunted house to be one of them. While she completely disbelieves the theory the first time she hears it, she begins to investigate exactly what the issues with Holly Oak are. What she finds is wonderfully surprising!

I enjoyed that there was two completely different eras civil war and contemporary. The story line was intriguing. I must say, I got completely involved with the civil war part and think this could have been a historical book stand alone without the contemporary part! Susannah was my favorite character and I loved that story.

This was a 4/5. It was an interesting book.
