Hannah Ryan’s perfect life is shattered when a drunk driver kills her husband and oldest daughter in a terrible accident. Hannah is determined to make the drunk driver at fault, and all drunk drivers pay for their crimes. To help with the prosecution of the drunk driver is attorney Matt Bronzan who believes he can make Hannah’s case a landmark case for California – a murder one conviction. Meanwhile, Hannah’s younger daughter, Jenny, is struggling to cope with her own grief and devastation over the loss of her dad and sister. Can Hannah and Matt bring the drunk driver to justice? Will Hannah’s hate overcome and destroy her life? And can Jenny and her Mom find peace even in heartbreak?

This was my first Karen Kingsbury book and I’m hooked! Wow! This is an incredibly moving story – well written and captivating. The emotions of the characters become your own emotions as you read their struggles. I love how Karen Kingsbury weaves Scripture and Biblical truth throughout the story. She depicts the grace and mercy of God so clearly – His desire for the characters to depend on Him in the struggles of life. The author plainly wants the reader to apply these principles in their own lives. I have since read the other 2 books in this series: A Moment of Weakness and Halfway to Forever. Each story is equally moving and masterfully written. Buy all 3 – you’ll love this series! My rating: A+ - a great read!

I received this book for free from the publisher in exchange for my honest review.
