As with all Amish books, this one was also inspirational, because it has to do with family, love, and what it takes to make things right. The main character is Rhoda, who everyone thinks is a little unusual, because she stays to herself, but can grow herbs and berries, and has a thriving canning business. The other characters are the King family. When something tragic happens because one of the King family decides to party, the main guy, Samuel, searches for answers to the solution. In the sense that Rhoda decides to open up to a new life and that her effects have on the King family, the whole book leaves you reading for more.
