This book was especially special for me because I live near the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia and love driving through there and visiting, which we have many times. This is a beautiful story about Lonnie, a strong and wonderful Christian young lady and the man her father pretty much demanded she marry, Gideon. Gideon was anything but strong and faithful, he was a jerk at times, I thought, and he really needed to grow up. I felt sorry for Lonnie quite a bit, but she is such a wonderful, loving and caring character, I felt myself wanting to be more like her.

A wonderful debut novel by Joanne Bischof that I highly recommend. I thoroughly enjoyed this blessed story and will sure be back for more from this author. I appreciate the way Joanne Bischof shows Lonnie’s faith in the Lord, how we as His children can go to Him for everything. He doesn’t always take our problems away, but His carries us through them just as He did Lonnie. I really enjoyed reading about her faith!!
