I can see how this book is not popular with modern culture.

For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God. 1 Corinthians 1:18

We are a culture of instant gratification, which dating and premarital sex offers. But, instant gratification comes with a price. The price we as a culture are paying is a high divorce rate, single parents, deadbeat dads, absent parents, teen pregnancy and all the bad 'side effects' that comes from children being raised in broken homes.

Joshua Harris' message isn't anything new. Paul speaks in 1 Corinthians Chapter 7 of singleness and serving the Lord.

I enjoyed the book. I did not become a born-again Christian until after my husband and I engaged. So I dated. The only regrets I have in my life come from my dating life. I wish I had known about courtship when I was younger. I wish I had known that there were young people who believed in and practiced courtship in America today.

It is something we will be teaching our sons. And when they are old enough, the will be given I Kissed Dating Goodbye for us to discuss as a family.

Disclosure: In accordance with the Federal Trade Commission rules I want to make sure you know that because I love free thing and I love books I received this book free from Waterbrook Press to read and review . I am not required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own.
