I was drawn to the story from the beginning, growing up we had those Sunday gatherings after church. I couldn't help but smile. Gideon reminded me of those sweet, funny and intriguing country boys I grew up with. Be Still My Soul is a glimpse into a world not many got to see. Lonnie and her family were weaved into a true mountain family. The amount of feeling and identity that was weaved into each character brought the book to life for me. Joanne brought some harsh moments in to light while at the same time showing the silver lining in the most dark clouds. She shows that when all else seems doomed a little faith will pull you through. I look forward to the second book in this series. This one was a true roller coaster ride. Full of the smooth sailing moments where you know whats around the corner to the sudden drops you didn't see coming.

I received a free copy of this book from Waterbrook Multnomah in exchange for my honest review.
