This was an enjoyable quick read. Thomas is an orphan that was raised in a monastery. He has a destiny that he must fulfill, so with the help of an interesting cast of characters, he leaves the monastery and sets out on his quest. How will his role and quest end? I enjoyed the characters in this book. The author did a wonderful job with them. The story line was intriguing and original. I liked that the Christian theme was woven through the story, even with the fantasy elements. The problem I had with it was the story felt 'rushed', almost like it was hurried along where if more time had been taken on it, it would have been a fantastic story! I rate this a 3/5. It was good and I'll read the next one but it felt like it was rushed. Thank you to Waterbrook for the review copy of this book. I received this book in exchange for an honest review and the opinions stated above are 100% mine.
