Most people have heard the song “Love is a Battlefield” but very few of us walk down the aisle believing it. Marriages inevitably hit hard times and then what? John and Stasi Eldredge have hit a home run with their new book, “Love & War.” This book bypasses the standard how-to-have-a-good-marriage advice and, instead, seeks to change our perspective on what marriage is and isn’t and how to be successful at marriage in a world where no good thing goes unopposed.

This is also not a how-to-make-your-spouse-over book. Written from both perspectives, this book is uniquely qualified to be read and re-read by both husbands and wives. Even if your spouse won’t read it, you’ll find solid advice and great guidance on taking steps into doing the work it takes to have a better marriage. If love is a battlefield, then “Love & War” is as essential as good armor and, with wedding season upon us, tuck a copy in with your wedding gift - the bride and groom may thank you sooner rather than later!

I received this book for free from WaterBrook Multnomah Publishing Group for this review as part of their "Blogging for Books" program.
